Janet Yi, M.S., BCBA

Janet Yi

Janet Yi, M.S., BCBA, is the executive director and owner of JBA Institute. She has been providing behavioral intervention to children with ASD since 1990. Ms. Yi received her clinical training at the University of California, Los Angeles. In her 11 years at the UCLA Clinic for the Behavioral Treatment of Children and at the Lovaas Institute for Early Intervention, she worked with Dr. Ivar Lovaas, Dr. Tristram Smith, and Dr. Jacqueline Wynn. During this tenure, she also contributed in the writing of the book, "Teaching Individuals with Developmental Delays: Basic Intervention Techniques" by O. Ivar Lovaas.

Ms. Yi is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. She received her Masters of Science degree in applied behavior analysis at California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA), where she graduated Summa Cum Laude.

Ms. Yi has served on the CalABA (California Association for Behavior Analysis) Board for 7 years as Professional Standards Chair, Treasurer, and Student Board Member. She received a Certificate of Appreciation for Exceptional Service during her tenure on the Board.

 

Ms. Yi has also served as a Behavior Analyst Certification Board Content Expert Panel Member, where she assisted in revising the content of the exams for the Associate Behavior Analyst Certification. In September 2008, she was the first Featured Certificant to be profiled in the inaugural newsletter on the website of the Association of Professional Behavior Analysts (APBA).

 

In addition, Ms. Yi has taught undergraduate and graduate ABA courses at UCLA and at CSULA and has presented for FEAT organizations in Los Angeles, North Texas, and Sacramento as well as at other professional ABA conferences.

Clinical Director

Sara Weinkauf, M.S., BCBA

Sara Weinkauf

Sara began her behavior analytic education and training in 2004 while receiving her undergraduate degree in psychology, with an emphasis in behavior analysis, from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. She then went on to receive her master's degree in 2010 in the Department of Behavior Analysis at the University of North Texas. She has been a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) since 2010; specializing primarily in early intervention for children diagnosed with autism. Sara's primary areas of interest have been staff training and treatment program evaluation as it relates to autism intervention in home, clinic, and school settings. She also has experience with conducting and publishing behavior analytic research, working with adults and adolescents with developmental disabilities, training staff to use appropriate behavior management strategies in adolescent and adult residential facilities, working with parents and caregivers of abused and neglected children, and providing consultation for neuro-typical children with behavior problems. Sara is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in infant and early childhood development. 

Training Manager

Ashley Gamble, M.A., BCBA

Ashley has worked in the field of ABA since 2012. She graduated from the University of Washington with a bachelor's degree in psychology. Shortly after receiving her degree, she was introduced to the field of ABA and started working as an ABA therapist with children with autism. She has since received her master's degree in education with an emphasis on applied behavior analysis and become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Ashley has worked with children with autism as well as other diagnoses and developmental disabilities.

Program Supervisor

Brittney Jones, M.S., BCBA

Brittney received both her bachelor’s degree in rehabilitation services and her master’s degree in counseling (emphasis in applied behavior analysis) with a certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorder from California State University, Los Angeles. Prior to her introduction into the field of ABA, Brittney gained experience as an instructional assistant in the special education department at a local school district. Since joining JBA Institute in 2011, her areas of expertise include the implementation of direct ABA services, case supervision, functional behavior assessments, and consultation. She is particularly interested in self-help and daily living skills acquisition, the treatment of challenging behavior, and working with and empowering parents and teachers.

Program Consultant

Erin Moulton, M.A., BCBA

Erin received her bachelor’s degree in liberal studies and multiple subjects teaching credential from San Diego State University. Since joining JBA Institute as a behavior interventionist in 2011, Erin has continued her education to receive her master’s degree in education with an emphasis on applied behavior analysis. She is now a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with primary areas of expertise including implementing direct ABA services, case supervision, parent training, and consultation.

Program Consultant

Nelly Villa, M.S., BCBA

Nelly started with JBA Institute as a behavior interventionist in the summer of 2014 after earning her bachelor’s degree in family life education from California State University, Long Beach. After a couple of years working as an interventionist, she continued her education and graduated in 2018 with a master’s degree in applied behavior analysis and is now a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Nelly has provided services for many individuals across childhood and young adulthood who have been diagnosed with autism and other developmental disabilities.

Brittany began working in the field of ABA with JBA Institute in 2013. She graduated from California State University, Northridge with a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies and earned a multiple subjects teaching credential. Since joining JBA Institute, she has received her master’s degree in education with an emphasis on curriculum and instruction. Brittany’s primary areas of expertise include implementing direct ABA services, case supervision, and consultation. Over the years, Brittany has worked with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder as well as other diagnoses and developmental disabilities.

Senior Behavior Interventionist

Our senior behavior interventionists directly provide one-to-one behavior intervention services to clients, as well as assist the program supervisor and/or consultant with the clinical and administrative management of client cases. Examples of these duties include, but are not limited to, organizing and conducting team meetings, analyzing client progress and recommending programming modifications, and training behavior interventionists.

Behavior Interventionist

Our behavior interventionists are responsible for directly providing one-to-one behavior intervention services while collecting data and documenting client progress throughout their sessions. Additionally, they also participate in team meetings with other staff members and parents to review the client's progress and discuss the overall treatment plan.
